Gargoyles Remastered joins a number of other Disney Classic platformers that have seen remasters in recent years, including Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book. It was a part of the Disney Afternoon programming back in the day, and has become a bit of a cult hit over the years. Incorporating Celtic mythology and Shakespearean grandeur, the show followed a group of mythic Gargoyles (led by Goliath, voiced by Keith David) who were turned to stone 1,000 years ago and wake. If you're less than familiar with Gargoyles itself, the game is based on the Disney animated series of the same name that aired back in the 90s and followed a group of gargoyles in then-modern-day New York City who protect it fromfrom various supernatural villains. Gargoyles Remastered is planned for release on console and PC with updated visuals and controls, but there's no release date for it yet. Developed by Empty Clip Studios (which most recently worked on the Streets of Rage and Yakuza mash-up Streets of Kamurocho), Gargoyles Remastered is exactly what it says on the tin: a remaster of the classic platformer that was out on the Sega Genesis in 1995.
